At ClearLight Eyecare, we offer comprehensive eye examinations to people of all ages. Routine eye exams are not only important in maintaining your vision, but also your overall health. We encourage having your eyes examined regularly to help prevent and diagnose many eye-related conditions.
Paediatric eye exams
Infants should get their first eye exam between the age of six to nine months to ensure that their vision and ocular health are developing properly. After the age of three years, children are recommended to have yearly eye exams to prevent any interferences with their academic and learning progress.
For many children, it is difficult to understand and communicate that their vision is impaired. Therefore, it is highly advised to have routine eye exams to identify these conditions and start treatment early.
Adult and senior eye exams
Adults (age 19-64) should get their eye examinations every one to two years, depending on their age, risk factors and overall health while seniors (65 and over) are recommended to have their eyes checked annually.
We regularly screen for diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, which can develop without any noticeable initial symptoms. Early detection allows for more treatment options, while minimizing the risk of permanent damage.
